Who we are

Eugene KurzEugene Kurz is a multifaceted graphic designer with a background in economics, business, music, political science and journalism. Since founding Kurz Design in 1997, Eugene has worked with dozens of clients to help make their projects shine by providing top-notch graphic design services and solutions.

He is a pioneer in facilitating the early adoption of Acrobat PDF workflow with clients, saving them time and money associated with printing and delivering colour proofs by courier the ‘old-fashioned’ way.

Eugene graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a BA in Economics, minoring in business administration and music theory, and subsequently graduated with a BA in Political Science at the University of Toronto. He then received a diploma in Print Journalism from Centennial College where he continued studies in Graphic Design and Media Communications.

As senior graphic designer at a mid-size promotion marketing agency, Eugene worked on brands like Gillette, Good Humor, Häagen-Dazs, Lactantia, Maple Leaf Foods, Mr. Christie, Nestlé, Oetker Shirriff, Tricor (Pizza Hut, KFC, Taco Bell) and Vlasic, and shared a National Packaging Competition award for the redesign of Swanson’s full line of frozen entrée packages. Since leaving the agency and founding Kurz Design, Eugene has focused on the financial industry and small- to medium-sized businesses, providing graphic design services of every kind.

Eugene is a Registered Graphic Designer, joined by over 1,000 other RGDs in Ontario who have been granted accreditation in an organization that provides a unified voice for graphic designers, a forum for exchange of ideas, establishes and regulates standards of knowledge, skill and ethics for all graphic designers in Ontario, and educates the public on the importance and benefits of graphic design in business and everyday life.
